The following public hearing notice was filed with the Texas Register on April 27, 2026.
The Texas Education Agency will hold a public hearing to solicit testimony and input from the public on Proposed New 19 TAC Chapter 103, Health and Safety, Subchapter CC, Commissioner's Rules Concerning Safe Schools, §103.1217, Safety During Extracurricular Activities.
The hearing will be held on May 5, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. in Room 2.029, Barbara Jordan Building, 1601 North Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas, 78701.
Anyone wishing to testify must sign in by 9:00 a.m. and are encouraged to also send written testimony to shane.sexton@tea.texas.gov. Testimony will be limited to two minutes per person, and the hearing will conclude once all who have signed in have been given the opportunity to comment.
