Franchise Tax 2026 Reports – Due Date May 15, 2026

A reminder that electronic submissions of 2026 franchise tax EZ and Long Form reports are now available. Taxpayers can file all 2026 tax reports, information reports, extensions and payments electronically. Printable versions of all 2026 franchise tax forms are available on the state's franchise tax page. https://comptroller.texas.gov/taxes/franchise/ 

The Texas franchise tax is a privilege tax imposed on each taxable entity formed or organized in Texas or doing business in Texas. For general information, see the Franchise Tax Overview (https://comptroller.texas.gov/taxes/publications/98-806.php).

Publishers must remain in good standing with the Texas Secretary of State (SOS) which requires the annual filing of these reports with the Texas Comptroller.

Share Your Insights: Register to Give Feedback on the Languages Other Than English (LOTE) Instructional Materials Rubric

The Texas Education Agency and the State Board of Education are seeking feedback on the Instructional Materials Review and Approval (IMRA) LOTE K–12 draft quality rubric, which will be used to evaluate instructional materials beginning summer 2027.

The IMRA quality rubric will support Texas districts in identifying high-quality LOTE instructional materials that ensure all students have access to rigorous content and instruction. Input from the field strengthens the rubric’s quality and effectiveness.

Publishers have two opportunities to get involved: focus groups and public comment.

Focus Groups

Focus groups will bring together educators, ESC specialists, parents, community members, and publishers to share their feedback on the LOTE K–12 draft quality rubric to inform rubric improvements. The schedule of focus group sessions dedicated to gathering input from LOTE publishers is below:

• May 8, 2026, 12:00–1:00 p.m.
• May 11, 2026, 2:00–3:00 p.m.
• May 12, 2026, 2:00–3:00 p.m.

Please use the registration link to sign up for one focus group session. To provide the best feedback possible, please review the rubric before attending the session.

Public Comment

Stakeholders unable to attend a focus group session can use the public comment form to submit feedback through June 9.

Publisher feedback is valuable to this process, and we encourage you to share the focus group registration and public comment form widely with your networks and colleagues.
