New Updates from Performance Reporting

2025 Student Assessment Data Validation Reports

Student Assessment Data Validation reports for the 2025 cycle are now available in the Texas Education Agency Login (TEAL) Accountability application. These reports support LEAs in reviewing potential anomalies in student assessment data and provide important insight into indicators outlined in the 2025 Student Assessment Data Validation Manual. Districts will be able to log in to TEAL to access their reports and begin local review processes.

Performance Reporting Calendar of Events- Updated for March

An updated version of the Performance Reporting Calendar of Events is now available! Performance Reporting events scheduled for March have been finalized, and iCal files are now available for those events and are posted on the Performance Reporting Resources webpage.

This resource includes important milestones such as manual releases, rating timelines, appeals windows, and reporting submissions—all in one convenient place. The calendar is available in multiple formats: spreadsheet, PDF, and .ics, which can be embedded in your personal calendar. 

Please note: the performance reporting calendar of events is updated regularly, with updates available by the second week of each month.

Accountability Tools Webinar

This session will offer a guided walkthrough of TEA‑developed tools and trackers, explain their purpose, and highlight how they can be used throughout the year to drive continuous improvement. This session is ideal for district and campus leaders, accountability staff, data analysts, and anyone responsible for supporting local decision-making through performance data. Performance Reporting Help Desk

Beginning March 6, 2026, Performance Reporting will transition to a new ticketing system for all support requests and questions. This change is designed to streamline communication, ensure faster response times, and improve tracking and resolution of inquiries. Stakeholders who may have previously sent questions to Performance Reporting via email will now submit inquiries via the TEA Help Desk, enabling our team to provide more efficient, consistent support. Additional details and instructions for accessing the ticketing platform will be shared as we approach the launch date.

Removal of Accountability Reports and Student Listings in TEAL 

In order to facilitate the posting of 2026 accountability reports, all 2024 accountability reports and student listings for all campuses and districts will be removed from the TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application on March 6, 2026. The accountability reports consist of accountability summaries, calculations, and data tables for each domain. Accountability student listings include data that was used to calculate the STAAR performance, College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR), and English Language Proficiency components for accountability. 

Additionally, the 2025 Accountability Appeals Form, 2025 Final Accelerated Testers Student Listing, and 2025 CCMR tracker Part II will also be removed from TEAL on March 6, 2025.  The 2025 reports, accountability reports, accountability downloads, and student listings will be removed prior to the release of 2026 accountability ratings. Once removed, the data contained in each report and student listing will be unavailable. Please ensure your district downloads and retains copies of these reports and data for your records. 

Preparing for AEA Registration

The AEA registration process will open in TEA Login (TEAL) on March 5^th. For those campuses that are identified as alternative education campuses (AECs) or residential treatment facilities (RTF), it is critical that information is correct in AskTED. For applicable campuses, leaders are encouraged to verify that the instructional type and residential facility status are both correct in AskTED. Texas Assessment Program Updates

This communication is to inform you of the following upcoming activities for the Texas Assessment Program.

SPRING 2026 STAAR ADMINISTRATION

For students who meet the criteria, district testing personnel must indicate special paper administrations in the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE) by February 13, 2026, for the spring 2026 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) administration. District testing personnel must review initial orders by the due date listed in the Calendar of Events, and paper indicators must be marked by the due date to be included in the initial order shipment. Additional orders must be placed for students whose paper indicators are added after the due date.

Test Administrator Manuals: District testing personnel will receive copies of STAAR test administrator manuals the week of February 17–20, 2026.

OOS and OOD Examinee Registration: As a reminder, district testing personnel must register out-of-school (OOS) and out-of-district (OOD) examinees for the spring 2026 STAAR administration between February 17 and February 27, 2026. The STAAR OOS and OOD Examinee Registration Form will be available on the Out-of-School and Out-of-District Testing page of the Texas Assessment website.

2026 TELPAS ADMINISTRATION

District testing personnel must order any additional Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) paper test materials during the additional order window of February 9–March 23 and additional return labels during the window of February 9–April 1.

Communications from Across the Agency

Critical performance reporting updates are shared through To The Administrator Addressed Correspondence (TAA)  which are important messages of interest to school districts, charter schools, and regional education service centers. If you do not currently receive the weekly TAA email, you can Sign up to receive email notification when new letters are posted. 

Federal Report Card Dissemination Requirement

Each school system that receives Title I, Part A funding is responsible for disseminating the state-, school system- and campus-level report cards to 1) all school system campuses, 2) parents of all enrolled students, and 3) the general public via widely available public means, such as posting on the Internet, distribution to the media, or distribution through public agencies. 

At minimum, the school system must -

• Post direct links to pdf files of the State, school system, and campus report cards on its web site; 
• Notify parents of all students about the availability of the report cards and the options for obtaining them; 
• Provide appropriate translation (either oral or written) upon request; 
• Make hard copies available to parents upon request; and 
• Make hard copies available for viewing in public locations. 

Sample parent notification letters in English and Spanish that school systems may customize are available on the TEA Federal Report Card Web Page. TEA strongly encourages school systems to translate the sample letter in a language and format that all parents can understand. School systems are not required to use the sample parent notification letters, but they must make the federal report card information readily accessible to the public, and school systems must notify parents of the availability of the federal report card information no later than Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

As per recent guidance from the US Department of Education, each school system shall have the federal report cards posted on its website for a minimum of 3 years.

2024-2025 and 2025-2026 Assignment of Accreditation Statuses

Under the authority of TEC §39.051 and §39.052 and 19 TAC §97.1055, TEA will assign accreditation statuses for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years. Accreditation statuses were posted publicly to the TEA website on February 12, 2026, on the Accreditation Status homepage. Background information regarding the assignment of accreditation statuses will also be posted. 

Prior to the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 public posting of statuses, districts and charter schools will be able to view their individual accreditation status by accessing the Intervention Stage and Activity Manager (ISAM) application through the Texas Education Agency Login (TEAL) application. Accreditation statuses will be posted to ISAM on February 5, 2026, and the assigned status will be displayed in an information panel on the Event Summary screen.

Districts and charter schools assigned the status of Accredited are not required to take any specific action. However, districts and charter schools assigned the status of Accredited-Warned, Accredited-Probation, or Not Accredited-Revoked must take specific actions to notify parents of students enrolled in the district or charter school and property owners in the district. The requirements for public notification are specified in 19 TAC §97.1055(f), and a template that reflects the TEA-required format and language for the public notice is posted on the Accreditation Status homepage.
