Parent and Family Engagement Online Cluster Meetings
The Title I, Part A Parent and Family Engagement Statewide Initiative is hosting two online training opportunities for school system and campus administrators, parent liaisons, teachers, and school staff who engage with parents. The cluster meetings are scheduled for December 2nd and 10th from 9:30 am - 4:30 pm. The content shared will be the same for each day. They have been scheduled on two different days to provide two different date options to attendees.
The cluster meetings will focus on moving beyond the traditional model of "filling seats" and "checking boxes." They'll explore how to transform family involvement from a one-time invitation into a true partnership. By focusing on building authentic relationships, we can shift the mindset of our school communities. You will leave with actionable strategies to create environments where parents feel valued as partners, not just one-time guests.
Training Key Learning Objectives
- Rethink Your Events: Learn how to design family engagement opportunities that prioritize relationships over large-scale, impersonal gatherings.
- Build Authentic Partnerships: Discover practical methods for fostering trust and open communication with families, moving beyond simple information sharing.
- Create a Culture of Welcome: Understand how to make parents feel like they belong and are essential to their child’s education, not just a box to be checked off.
- Measure What Matters: Explore new ways to gauge the success of your engagement efforts beyond just counting how many people show up.
