2025 PowerPoint Templates for Superintendents and Principals Now Available 

We are excited to provide a new resource for 2025 ratings! A slide deck template for communicating accountability ratings with School Boards and a template for communicating accountability ratings with campus communities are available on the 2025 Accountability Rating System webpage under Explanatory Materials and Resources. These resources are fully customizable and include step by step directions for retrieving your data, sample scripts, and an overview of the A-F Accountability Framework.  

2023 Final Accountability Ratings and 2025-26 School Year PEG List Now Available  

The final 2023 A-F Accountability Ratings were posted publicly on TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application, TXschools.gov and Accountability Reports on August 19, 2025. Final ratings reflect the Commissioner’s decisions regarding appeals. 

As the 2023 A-F Accountability Ratings are the most current final ratings, the Final 2025-2026 School Year PEG list is now available on the Public Education Grant webpage and reflects campuses that received a final 2023 overall scaled score less than 60. This list of campuses is identified under the PEG program, authorized under Texas Education Code (TEC), Chapter 29, Subchapter G, §§29.201–29.205. More information on the PEG list is available on the Public Education Grant FAQ Webpage.   

Due to the timing of the release of 2023 ratings, September 1, 2025 is the deadline for districts to notify families with students assigned to a campus included on the Final 2025-26 PEG List. Statute also stipulates that the notice must contain an explanation of the PEG program and how the parent may obtain further information about pursuing a transfer. District superintendents of schools on the 2025-2026 Final PEG list received additional communications from Performance Reporting on August 19, 2025.

Preliminary 2026-27 PEG List Now Available  

Following the August 15, 2025 release of the 2025 Preliminary A–F Academic Accountability Ratings, campuses that received a 2025 preliminary overall scaled score less than 60 are on the Preliminary 2026–27 PEG List available on the Public Education Grant webpage. It is possible for a campus to be removed from the 2026–27 PEG list if a campus appeals its accountability rating and the appeal is successful. Notification of eligibility to families with students currently assigned to attend a campus on the 2026–27 PEG List is not required until February 1, 2026, after 2025 A–F Accountability ratings are final. 

Please note that following the August 15, 2025, release of preliminary 2024 ratings, a 2024 PEG List has been posted as required by statute, but is not applicable to the 2025–26 school year due to the lawsuit that delayed the 2024 ratings release.

2024 and 2025 Appeals Timeline Now Available 

The Commissioner of Education is required to provide a process for school districts and open enrollment charter schools to challenge an agency decision relating to an academic rating that affects the district or school, including a determination of consecutive school years of unacceptable performance ratings (Texas Education Code [TEC], §39.151).  Alongside the release of 2024 and 2025 preliminary ratings, the 2024 and 2025 appeals timeline was shared in the TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application, on the 2025 Accountability Rating System and the 2024 Accountability Rating System webpages. This resource provides additional details and a timeline of the appeals process for both 2024 and 2025 appeals of preliminary A-F ratings. The deadline for 2024 and 2025 preliminary A-F ratings appeals is September 12, 2025 at 5pm via upload in the in the TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application, by mail, or hand delivery.  

As was shared via the TAA, PEIMS Working Submission for 2025 A-F Accountability Ratings , the agency is allowing districts to appeal their 2025 accountability rating based on a PEIMS Working Submission to correct data submitted in the 2023-2024 PEIMS Submission Windows related to College Preparatory Course Completion data errors or Industry Based Certification (IBC) data errors. Only 2025 ratings administered under the 2025 Accountability Rating System Manual will be appealable as part of the PEIMS Working Submission process for accountability ratings. Districts should only submit a Working Submission if the appropriate supporting documentation is on hand to support the data submitted. A new resource, PEIMS Working Submission Guidance is available in the TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application and on the 2025 Accountability Rating System webpage to support school systems in correctly submitting appeals aligned to the PEIMS Working Submission process for IBCs and College Prep courses.   

PEIMS Extended Year Submission Accountability Data Sources Now Available  

The initial submission of the PEIMS Extended Year Submission is on August 28, 2025, with a Resubmission deadline of September 18, 2025.  In order to support school systems accurately submit Academic Accountability data, a new is now available on the 2026 Accountability Rating System webpage.  

2024-25 PEIMS Extended Year Submission Accountability Data Sources, provides a side-by-side comparison of data sources for the specified indicators impacted by updates to TSDS PEIMS for the 2024-25 school year. Additionally, a step-by-step guide for direct access to PEIMS references is available.  For a complete list of all data standards, please see the 2024-2025 Texas Education Data Standards (TWEDS). For assistance, please contact your supporting Education Service Center (ESC) or TEA by accessing the TSDS Incident Management System (TIMS).

Can I update the school information, such as the principal or school address for TXschools.gov page? 

School information on TXschools.gov, including the principal’s name and school address, reflects current information and is sourced directly from AskTED.  If information on TXschools.gov is inaccurate for the 2025-26 school year, school systems should make adjustments in AskTED, which will be reflected on TXschools.gov the first of each month. Prior year information is not visible on TXschools.gov and is unable to be updated retroactively on AskTED.  

2025 A-F Accountability Ratings Now Available 

As of August 13, 2025, Accountability Reports and Data Tables, 2025 Accountability Data Downloads, and STAAR, Growth, AEA Retest Growth, and EL Student Listings are available in the TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application.  The CCMR Student Listings were posted in the TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application on August 1st. The results reflect the methodology in the final rule adopting the Accountability Rating System Manual for 2025 ratings.  

On August 15, 2025, both 2024 and 2025 Accountability Reports, Accountability Downloads, and Statewide Summary slides were posted on their respective 2024 Accountability Rating System and 2025 Accountability Rating System webpages. These tools provide school systems additional information to support internal evaluation of campus and district academic performance. TXSchools.gov also publicly reports the 2025 scale scores and ratings. 2024 can also found on the “Change Over Time” table on the Accountability Overview tab.   

On August 15, 2025, TEA also released the School Improvement (SI) federal identification list to the public on the 2025 Accountability System webpage. The TAA, Campuses Identified for School Improvement Interventions under 2024 and 2025 State and Federal Accountability, sent on August 14, 2025, includes additional next steps related to federal SI reporting.   

2025 TXschools.gov Communications Toolkit Now Available  

The TXschools.gov Communications Toolkit for 2025 ratings is now available. The TXschools.gov Toolkit was created to help districts and campuses provide families the information they need to better understand their child’s school rating.  

The Toolkit consists of working documents, including FAQs, social media templates, one-pagers, and email content, that districts and campuses can customize. We hope these tools are beneficial as you build your communication plans and messaging. 

CCMR Outcomes Bonus Early Counts for 2024 Graduates Coming Soon 

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) annually awards districts College, Career, and Military Readiness Outcomes Bonus (CCMR OB) funding. Funding is awarded based on the number of annual graduates who demonstrate college, career, or military readiness in excess of a threshold for three cohorts: 1) annual graduates who are economically disadvantaged; 2) annual graduates who are not economically disadvantaged; and 3) annual graduates who are enrolled in a special education program.  

Early counts reflect readiness outcomes for graduates who met TSI criteria, earned associate degrees or industry-based certifications (IBCs) and those who enrolled in postsecondary institutions immediately after high school but counts do not yet include data from the THECB for postsecondary institution enrollment.  

The CCMR OB Early Counts Student Listing for 2024 Graduates and CCMR OB Explanation of Methodology and Sources will be posted in the in the TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application in the coming week. Early counts for the Class of 2024 will be incorporated into the Legislative Payment Estimates (LPE) column of the 2025-26 Summary of Finances (SOF) reports and paid throughout the year according to the district’s payment schedule. The release of the CCMR Outcomes Bonus Early Counts allows school systems to financially plan more effectively and thoroughly for the 2025-26 school year.

2023 School Report Cards Coming Soon  

School Report Cards (SRC) inform families about a campus’ individual characteristics and its academic performance including STAAR and Academic Growth outcomes. On the SRC, Student attendance and enrollment information, class size information, and financial indicators are provided alongside the campus’s 2023 Overall Academic Accountability Rating, a rating for each accountability domain, and the 2023 Distinction Designations earned by the campus from the 2023 accountability rating year. Each campus must send a copy of the SRC to a parent or guardian of each of its students within six weeks of notification that the SRC has been posted

Improve Performance Reporting Processes and Products 

Many of the tools shared in today’s bulletin, including the 2024-25 PEIMS Extended Year Submission Accountability Data Sources, the editable slide decks for school and systems leaders, and the PEIMS Working Submission Guidance were created and shared based off the feedback received from stakeholders across Texas.

ANNUAL SYSTEM ROLLOVER 

As a reminder, Texas Assessment Program systems are offline until 1:00 a.m. (CT) August 25, 2025, to complete a system rollover for the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE), the Centralized Reporting System (CRS), and the Test Delivery System (TDS), including the practice test interface. The Secure File Center and the Learning Management System (LMS) will be available for registered users through the Testing Personnel page of the Texas Assessment website. 

SECURE BROWSER UPDATES FOR 2025–26 

As a reminder, the updated Secure Browser 18.0 for supported versions of macOS, Windows, and Linux is now available to download from the Secure Browsers page of the Texas Assessment website. A new secure browser for ChromeOS is available and supports ChromeOS version 132 and above. The minimum system requirements for the 2025–26 school year are available in the Technology Resources section of the District and Campus Coordinator Resources. 

TIDE UPDATES 

As a reminder, TIDE is undergoing a user interface update for the 2025–26 school year. This enhancement is designed to improve navigation and the overall user experience while maintaining current system functionality.  Additional training materials will be available to district personnel later this month.
