June Social Studies and Reading Language Arts Stakeholder Engagement Sessions
Topic: Best Practices for Social Studies Instruction- Guest Speakers Panel
Target Audience: Social Studies, Reading Language Arts, Stakeholders - Teachers, District Administrators, Campus Administrators, Education Service Center Specialists, Parents, Professional Organizations
Session Description: The TEA social studies curriculum team will host two panelists from Texas school systems to share best practices for social studies instruction. The panelists will share insights on the connections between social studies and reading language arts, examining assessments and data related to the crossover between social studies and reading language arts in TELPAS and STAAR. Stakeholders will have an opportunity to participate in questions and discussion with members of the panel and the TEA social studies curriculum team.

July Social Studies and Reading Language Arts Stakeholder Engagement Sessions
Topic: K–5 Cross-Curricular Connections for Social Studies and Reading Language Arts and Reading
Target Audience: Social Studies and Reading Language Arts Stakeholders - Teachers, District Administrators, Campus Administrators, Education Service Center Specialists, Parents, Professional Organizations
Session Description: The TEA social studies and reading language arts curriculum team will share the K-5 Cross-Curricular Connections Tool for Social Studies and English Language Arts and Reading. The team will explain the different parts of this tool and share how this tool supports cross-curricular instructional planning. Stakeholders will have an opportunity to participate in questions and discussion with members of the TEA social studies and reading language arts curriculum team.

 State Board of Education Meeting, June 24-27
The next meeting of the State Board of Education (SBOE) will occur June 24-27, 2025. An agenda is published prior to each meeting. The TEA provides meeting webcasts for people interested in watching from a computer or device. Archived webcasts are also available. Texas Assessment Research Portal
The Texas Assessment Research Portal is a public portal designed for users to generate reports for summary state assessment data. Data can be viewed and compared by state, region, district or campus, and further broken down by demographic groups. The portal can be accessed with a desktop, laptop, or tablet. It is not optimized for mobile phones.

Congratulations to the graduating class of 2025 and the parents and educators that have supported them along the way! Among life's biggest moments are graduations. The culmination of hard work and accomplishment, a commencement of any kind is cause for celebration. The graduating class of 2025 has proven that they can overcome obstacles and challenges with strength and perseverance. As they embrace the next phase of their lives, they will remember the lessons learned and cherish the memories made. The world needs the unique skills and talents of this year’s graduating students and their parents and educators!
