Middle School Advanced Mathematics TEKS
At the April 2025 meeting, in alignment with the requirement for Texas public school systems to develop an advanced mathematics program for middle school students that is designed to enable students to enroll in Algebra I in eighth grade, the State Board of Education (SBOE) adopted reorganized Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for middle school advanced mathematics courses.
These middle school advanced mathematics TEKS may be implemented in classrooms beginning with the 2025–2026 school year and are currently posted on the Middle School Advanced Mathematics TEKS Review web page. Once the new TEKS have been filed with the Texas Register, the TEKS will be available in Texas Administrative Code (TAC), Chapter 111.
More information is available in TAA: Middle School Advanced Mathematics published May 22, 2025.
2025 College Career and Military Readiness (CCMR) Verifier Opens May 30, 2025
The CCMR Verifier will be released on May 30, 2025, and will be available in the TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application. The CCMR Verifier provides districts an opportunity to verify the accuracy of their CCMR data and, if needed, submit official documentation to correct non-PEIMS data. CCMR indicators determined by TSDS PEIMS submissions are not eligible for corrections and will not be shown. The CCMR Verifier will contain data for 2023-24 annual graduates and non-graduating 12th graders.
Explanatory documents and resources from previous years are available on the Performance Reporting Resources under the CCMR tab.
Class of 2023 CCMR OB Listings and Reports Available
The final Class of 2023 Annual Graduates CCMR OB Student Listings are now available in the TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application. The final Class of 2023 CCMR OB Counts by District, Class of 2023 CCMR OB State Report, and explanatory resources are also now available on the Performance Reporting Resources webpage.
The final student listings and reports are an update to the previously released Early CCMR OB Counts by District 2023 Graduates file. Early counts were based on actual data for the graduating class; the last set of data from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) has been processed and these reports are now final.
More information is available in TAA: Final CCMR Outcomes Bonus Counts Reports for Class of 2023 Graduates published on May 15, 2025.

Approved College Preparatory Course List to be Implemented with 2028 Refreshed Ratings
In response to public comment received during the A-F Accountability Rating System Manual for 2026 ratings proposed rule public comment period, the agency is deferring the proposed change to give credit to only those courses on the approved college preparatory course for CCMR list until the 2028 accountability year, with the 2026-2027 graduates. This change will be reflected in the proposed manual for 2026 ratings, which will be adopted in June.
Grade level requirements are not being postponed and will be implemented as announced in 2024 A-F Accountability Ratings System Manual.
The list of approved college preparatory courses for CCMR for 2028 accountability will be provided in a forthcoming TAA. More information is available in TAA: Postponement of Approved List of College Preparatory Courses to 2028 Accountability published May 8, 2025.
For questions regarding the College Preparatory Courses for CCMR, please contact the College, Career, and Military Preparation Division at (512) 936-6060 or ccmp@tea.texas.gov.
PEIMS Summer Submission Preparation
With the June 20, 2025 deadline for the PEIMS Summer Submission only a few weeks away, LEAs should be completing data entry in the SIS for Summer Submission and actively continuing with resolution of Fatal errors and warnings. Additionally, reserving time for data review by LEA staff is essential, especially with the upcoming summer holiday schedule. To assist with the data review, LEAs are strongly encouraged to utilize available TSDS PEIMS reports to ensure the accuracy of the data in PEIMS which are the data used for accountability purposes.
LEA verification of PEIMS data prior to the final submission is an essential step that helps both the district, and the local system vendor ensure the data entered accurately reflects LEA performance. As a reminder, LEAs, not their information system vendors, are ultimately responsible for the accuracy of the data submitted to PEIMS. Data submitted through working collections are not used for accountability purposes.
