2024-2025 Gun-Free Schools Report Available
The 2024-2025 Gun-Free Schools - District Report (PR6000) is now available on eGrants under the "Compliance Reports" tab. The due date is June 30, 2025.
Submission of the Gun-Free Schools Report is required of all school systems (including members of a shared services arrangement) that request any federal funds in 2025-2026 for any of the programs authorized by the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). This includes any program in the ESSA Consolidated, School Improvement, and Rural and Low-Income Schools grant applications. If a school system does not submit its Gun-Free Schools Report, TEA cannot issue NOGAs for the school system’s federal grants.
If a school system certifies on the PR6000 that there were students found to have brought a firearm, the school system is required to submit a Gun-Free Schools – Campus Report (PR6100) for the reporting campus(es) only.
If report(s) are not submitted by the due date, the school system will be contacted to come into compliance before a Notice of Grant Award (NOGA) can be released for the applicable grants.
