2025-2026 School Action Fund Planning and Implementation Continuation Grant (Cycle 8)
The 2025-2026 School Action Fund Planning and Implementation Continuation Grant window is open as of April 17, 2025. Eligible SAF Cycle 8 Grantees can access the application and Program Guidelines on the TEA Grant Opportunities site. The application will be available from 4/17/2025−6/16/2025. SAF Cycle 8 Grantees are encouraged to submit their application as soon as possible to secure grant funding and receive NOGAs early.
Please note that Budget proposals are required with the grant application submission and may be subject to modifications during the negotiations process. Please consult with your Technical Assistance provider to complete the Budget proposal. If you have any specific questions, please reach out to the School Action Fund team, Division of System Support at schoolactionfund@tea.Texas.gov.
Third-Party Reviews will be enacted starting Fall 2025 for SAF Cycle 8 and beyond.
At least one overall ESF-aligned school review by a third-party organization skilled and experienced in this work, completed no later than December 2025. The third-party implementation quality review will be conducted by an organization selected by the TEA, and which is not connected to the grantee district, campus, or TEA-matched technical assistance provider. The Third-Party Review organization will be contracted as of May 2025.

SAF Highlights!
SAF District Support Specialists recently had the pleasure of visiting various SAF campuses in the month of March 2025. Below are a few highlights from those visits.
“Visiting the PSP Early Learning Academy was a truly positive experience. The collaboration between Region 16 and the district was exceptional, showcasing a strong partnership. The teachers were incredibly dedicated, ensuring that both students and families felt welcomed. High-quality learning was evident throughout the academy, reflecting the commitment to excellence. Overall, it was an inspiring visit that highlighted the great work being done."
“HQIM alignment of Scope and Sequence and Fidelity of Implementation was evident within the District. Taking this a step further, it was an inspiring experience to see alignment of HQIM while visiting multiple districts.”
"Steve Mead Middle School in Aldine ISD is cultivating an environment of high expectations through its strong emphasis on goal-setting and data ownership. The campus is in its first year of a School Action Fund Continuation grant and has made use of visual data trackers to support student agency and ownership of academic performance. Data trackers are prominently featured in hallways and classrooms, serving as a visual reminder of academic progress. Students actively engage in monitoring their own performance, setting individual goals, and striving for success. This intentional approach is supporting students in taking charge of their learning journey."
