Updates related to Educator Preparation Program Management

New: Introduction to Research-Based Instructional Strategies (RBIS) for EPPs Webinar & FAQ Now Posted
The "Introduction to RBIS for EPP" webinar recording and resources are now available on the Program Provider Resources page under Training Events and Materials. This session explores Research-Based Instructional Strategies (RBIS), their purpose, construction, and alignment with High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM).

New: Intermittent Insight to Impact Dashboards Outages
Due to some recent updates, there have been intermittent outages of the Insight to Impact Dashboards. We are continuing to work internally to better understand when system-wide updates might affect I2I so that we can provide advance notice about such updates and outages.

New: Action Required - Title II Reporting
The Title II website is now available for all EPPs to complete their required federal reporting. All EPP Title II representatives should have received notification via email. If your EPP’s Title II reporting lead did not receive an email, please reach out to title2@trewon.com

To begin, please log in to the system. Go to https://title2.ed.gov/ and select "Submit Reports" in the upper righthand corner of the webpage. Your username and password remain the same. To recover a username or password, select "Forgot your username or password?" and enter your email.

For support in completing this report, please visit https://title2.ed.gov/Public/TA.aspx for links to a Glossary of Key Terms and Reporting Requirements. Instructions are included in the reporting instrument. If you have specific questions, please email title2@trewon.com

This reporting is due April 30. As a reminder, TEA does not provide technical support for this required federal reporting. We do, however, monitor EPP completion to ensure that all EPPs are in compliance with this requirement.

Pro Tip: In the past, responses from the Title II Help Desk have been delayed during high volume times. We suggest doing this reporting as soon as possible, so that you can avoid any challenges with their Help Desk.

Reminder: ASEP Reporting 2024-2025 Mid-Year Data Sets Uploaded
The Mid-Year Data Sets for 2024-2025 were uploaded on March 31, 2025, into the ShareFile file locker available to Legal Authorities or Primary Points of Contact. As in prior years, the Mid-Year data sets include:

  • Year-to-Date Pass Rates
  • Year-to- Date Observations
  • 5-Year Continuing Enrollment Status

We recommend that EPPs use the data sets to monitor ASEP progress for the year. There is no requirement to use this information. Should you have questions about the data, please submit a Helpdesk ticket to the Data Reporting Help Desk.

Reminder: Additional Year of Perception Surveys in Insight to Impact
An additional year of data has been added to the Perception Surveys Dashboards in Insight to Impact. If you have any questions, issues, or enhancement requests for the Insight to Impact Dashboards, please submit them to the HelpDesk.

FAQs

We take this space to highlight questions that we have heard from EPPs.

Q: Must candidates in our EPP sign for the Exit Policy at admission?

A: Yes. Each candidate must review and sign your EPPs exit policy upon admission. The policy must:

Be published;

Identify a point of dismissal for inactive candidates after no more than two years of inactivity, or university-based EPPs may adopt their institution’s policy; and

An inactive candidate is one who is no longer completing coursework, training, and testing requirements with an EPP and is not a completer of the EPP.

Reference the complete citation in 19 TAC §228.31(b).

Q: We are a university-based EPP and our point of dismissal for inactive candidates is longer than two years. Is that acceptable?

A: Yes. An exit policy at a university-based EPP may be longer than 2 years if the EPP has adopted its institution’s policy. The policy must be applied equitably, and each candidate must sign for it at admission. Reference the complete citation in 19 TAC §228.31(b).
