We are thrilled to work with you this year and look forward to following along with SFI LEAs as you grow and strengthen your LEA’s implementation this year. This newsletter will be sent out once a month to keep you informed about important updates and milestones throughout the grant cycle.

Milestones
Required: Attend the EMAT 101 Information Session: Please join us to learn more about EMAT, the state’s online ordering system, which LEAs will use to procure print materials if awarded Strong Foundations Implementation.
Required: Attend the Strong Foundations Implementation Kickoff: This one-hour kickoff is required for all LEA leads and recommended for all district and campus leaders who will be participating in SFI.
Required: Attend Contracting 101: This one-hour session is required for LEA leads, and recommended for anyone at the LEA who will be supporting in contracting and partnering with your LEA’s Approved Provider
Recommended: Begin to consider your Approved Provider (AP) partner. Review the State Approved Provider List and begin vetting APs via your local policy, and plan to have an executed contract with an AP.
Due May 16: Executed Contract: You received a link to your LEA’s Google Folder on your SFI Supplemental Award Letter that was sent on February 24. Please submit your executed contract to your LEA’s Google Folder by May 16.
Reminders and Next Steps
- [50% of grant funds to contract with a single Approved Provider per instructional material from the LASO Cycle 3 Approved Provider List for Strong Foundations Implementation to support grant activities (it is highly recommended that LEAs contract with the same provider for all instructional materials)
- 20% of grant funds for additional support from the Approved Provider and/or salaries or partial salaries for instructional coaches or other positions directly supporting implementation of the instructional materials

30% of grant funds for other allowable expenses (e.g., print materials, digital licenses, assessment licenses, teacher stipends, instructional coaches)
