Bluebonnet Learning Updates
Now Available in EMAT
Component Exemption
Local educational agencies (LEAs) may submit a Bluebonnet Learning Component Exemption Request Form if they already possess an identical or near-identical component for each student and/or teacher. Currently, the eligible components for exemption for Bluebonnet Learning include K–5 Math manipulative kits and K–5 RLA trade books.
EMAT Closure
EMAT will close for annual maintenance on March 28, 2025, with a scheduled reopening to occur on May 15, 2025.
To ensure all instructional material purchases are completed before the closure, please submit any in-progress disbursements or requisitions as soon as possible to allow our team time to review. For questions, please submit a Help Desk ticket.
Accessible Instructional Materials (AIM)
For LEAs planning to order AIM for the 2025–26 school year, it is recommended to submit requisitions for braille materials as soon as possible. Large-print and audio materials should be ordered by mid-July.
A reminder that EMAT prerequisites do not need to be met before placing AIM requisitions and the cost of state-adopted/state-approved AIM does not come out of an LEA’s Instructional Materials and Technology Allotment (IMTA) funds.
EMAT Training
A friendly reminder that EMAT Overview and Training has been updated. It is highly recommended for anyone completing disbursements or requisitions in EMAT to review the EMAT Trainings and use the content as a guide when completing instructional material purchases in EMAT.
Learn about instructional materials funding options by watching the Instructional Materials Funding Webinar. The webinar provides an overview of the Instructional Materials and Technology Allotment, SBOE-Approved Instructional Materials Entitlement ($40), and State-Developed Open Education Resource (OER) Entitlement ($20).
