TEA Superintendent Call Debrief:
December 12, 2024

Superintendents, 

Below is the summary debrief of the TEA Monthly Superintendent call that took place on December 12, 2024:


12/12 Call Agenda:

  • School Health and Related Services (SHARS)
    • During the week of December 9th, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission sent a notice to selected school systems related to SHARS. The email notice went to the primary and secondary contacts from the FFY23 SHARS cost report.

  • Attendance Projection Collection
    • The Attendance Projections module will close at midnight on December 16, 2024
    • For more information, see the TAA released October 10th.
    • For help accessing the FSP application or submitting attendance projections data, please email ADAprojections@tea.texas.gov or call 512-463-9622. 
  • Holocaust Remembrance Week Planning
    • Instructional resources provided by the Texas Holocaust, Genocide, and Antisemitism Advisory Commission (THGAAC) are available to school systems throughout the year, especially during Holocaust Remembrance Week, which next occurs in early 2025, the week of January 27–31, 2025.  
    • For planning purposes and for more information about the mission and services provided by the THGAAC and to contact the Commission, please visit the Texas Holocaust, Genocide, and Antisemitism Advisory Commission website.  
  • Learning Acceleration Support Opportunities (LASO)
  • Cybersecurity Coordinator Forum
    • The TEA Cybersecurity Team hosts a monthly meeting for Texas school system Cybersecurity Coordinators, Education Service Center Cybersecurity Personnel, and other members of the community that support K12 Cybersecurity efforts. 
    • To attend, use your school system email address to register. 
  • Voluntary Lead Testing
    • Facilities that complete sampling through the free Lead Testing in School and Child Care Program and detect lead can be provided with free filters (pitcher, in-line, and faucet) that are certified to remove lead and lead-free fixtures.

  • McKinney-Vento Webinar
    • The Texas Education for Homeless Children and Youths (TEHCY) provides direction and leadership on the implementation of state and federal guidance regarding program services for McKinney-Vento eligible students.
