Unsafe School Choice Option (USCO) Handbook
The Federal Program Compliance Division has posted a revision to the Unsafe School Choice Option (USCO) Handbook (v 4.1).
The revision includes that PEIMS Action Reason Code 36 [Felony Controlled Substance Violation – TEC §37.007(a)(3)] will remain part of the methodology for identification of Persistently Dangerous Schools. Starting with 2024-2025 PEIMS data, TEA will no longer be accepting appeals due to vaping with a PEIMS Action Reason Code 36.
Effective September 1, 2023, the following codes were added to PEIMS.
