Congratulations on receiving a Strong Foundations Implementation award through the LASO Cycle II Grants! We are excited to welcome you to HQIM Implementation where you will receive supports to bring TEA-approved core high-quality instructional materials to your students.

Reminders and Next Steps 

Thank you to everyone who attended the LASO Cycle II Kick-off session today. We are thrilled to see a group of dedicated LEAs committed to improving student learning and achieving their goals. If you were unable to attend this morning’s kick-off session, view the video and deck to learn about important requirements and next steps by accessing the Strong Foundations Interactive Calendar. 

Kick-off Action Items 

To set your LEA up for success, complete the following next step: 

  • Complete and submit HQIM Readiness Inventory; link will be provided at LEA Kick-off meeting.  

Learning Sessions

All participating leaders will engage in a series of learning sessions to plan and prepare for a Strong Start in the 2024–25 school year. Register for sessions by accessing links posted in the Strong Foundations Interactive Calendar. 

REQUIRED: Contracting 101 

In this session, the person(s) responsible for district finance and grant management/point for the grant(s) will learn about utilizing strategy to select an Approved Provider, guidance on budgeting to meet LEA specific goals with the grant and a review of the grant, and basic information from the grants team on navigating the action steps to access funding and who to reach out to for budget support. 

  • Option 1: March 19, 2024, 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. CT 
  • Option 2: April 4, 2024, 11:00 a.m. to noon CT 

REQUIRED: Intro to RBIS

In this session, district level senior leaders/leadership teams will engage in a high-level overview of the research behind the RBIS (Research-based Instructional Strategies) and a brief introduction to literacy and math RBIS. 

  • Option 1: March 26, 2024
  • Option 2: April 11, 2024 

REQUIRED: Strong Start Implementation Leader Training  

All participating district and school-level leaders will engage in planning and preparation for the pre-launch components of HQIM implementation. Resources will be provided to support materials access, scheduling and instructional calendars, aligning expectations, and developing a professional learning plan.  

  • Option 1: April 2, 2024, 9:00 a.m. to noon CT 
  • Option 2: April 3, 2024, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. CT 
  • Option 3: April 23, 2024, 9:00 a.m. to noon CT  
  • Option 4: April 24, 2024, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. CT  
  • Option 5: May 1, 2024, 9:00 a.m. to noon CT 
  • Option 6: May 2, 2024, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. CT 

REQUIRED: Strong Start Amplify Texas Elementary Literacy Program Leader Training 

Academic district leaders and school-level leaders will build knowledge of specific HQIM products to support strong implementation. Attendance is required for leaders implementing Amplify Texas Elementary Literacy Program through the LASO Cycle II award.  

  • Option 1: April 3, 2024, 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. CT 
  • Option 2: April 24, 2024, 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. CT  
  • Option 3: May 1, 2024, 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. CT 

REQUIRED: Strong Start Eureka Math TEKS Edition Leader Training 

Academic district leaders and school-level leaders will build knowledge of specific HQIM products to support strong implementation. Attendance is required for leaders implementing Eureka Math TEKS Edition through the LASO Cycle II award. 

  • Option 1: April 2, 2024, 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. CT 
  • Option 2: April 23, 2024, 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. CT 
  • Option 3: May 2, 2024, 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. CT 

REQUIRED: Strong Start Carnegie Texas Math Solution Leader Training 

Academic district leaders and school-level leaders will build knowledge of specific HQIM products to support strong implementation. Attendance is required for leaders implementing Carnegie Texas Math Solution through the LASO Cycle II award. 

  • Option 1: April 2, 2024, 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. CT 
  • Option 2: April 23, 2024, 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. CT 
  • Option 3: May 2, 2024, 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. CT 

SUPPLEMENTAL: HQIM Implementation Symposium 

All participating LASO Cycle II leaders are invited to attend the symposium to hear from LEAs who participated in HQIM implementation through LASO Cycle I during the 2023–24 school year. LEAs will share their HQIM journey, experiences, and strategies for success. When registering, select “other” for your LEA name.  

  • Symposium: May 2, 2024, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. CT 

SUPPLEMENTAL: LASO Cycle II Office Hours 

Office hours are held at 9:00 a.m. CT on the first Monday of every month and provide on-going time for leaders engaged in grant activities to meet with TEA representatives for support and to answer questions.
