Title I, Part A - Newbie Virtual Training Series

We are pleased to announce the following schedule for the Title I, Part A – Newbie Training Series.

If you are new to federal programs in general—and to Title I, Part A in particular—this series of trainings will help you absorb the basics and set yourself up for success in dealing with the world of federal grants.

There is no cost for the training.  Session materials and recordings will be posted on the Title I, Part A Capacity Building Initiative’s web site.

  • February 27, 2024 (10:00 - 11:30 am CST):  Documentation Basics presented by TEA Federal Program Compliance Division and TEA Federal Fiscal Monitoring Division
    • Description: Participants will be provided with information related to common documentation requirements for program related Title I, Part A requirements and common documentation requirements for documentation requested by auditors.

  • March 19, 2024 (10:00 - 11:30 am CST): FASRG and Budget Basics presented by Education Service Center - Region 20
    • Description: Participants will gain an understanding of Budget Fundamentals from Terms to Codes.

  • April 23, 2024 (10:00 - 11:30 am CST):  Conducting a Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA) Utilizing the CCNA Toolkit Resources presented by
    Title I, Part A Capacity Building Statewide Initiative
    • Description: Through this session, we will discuss how to start viewing the CNA as a process and not a checklist! Planning with the end in mind, we will also review how the resources of the CCNA will help make sense of the first step of the continuous improvement cycle!
