Coming Soon: Preliminary 2024 Accountability Manual
The Preliminary 2024 Accountability Manual, Chapters 1-12 will soon be available on the 2024 Accountability Manual webpage. Please see the forthcoming To the Administrator Addressed (TAA) notification that will be released concurrently with the preliminary manual for further details.
Texas Accountability Advisory Group (TAAG) and ESC Advisory Group (EAG) Meetings were held January 23 and 25, 2024
The objective of these meetings was to greet TAAG and EAG members at the outset of the new year and to evaluate proposals intended for the Commissioner of Education, offering recommendations concerning the academic accountability system. The next steps are to be responsive to both committees’ feedback and begin the public comment period in Spring 2024. TEA uses the feedback collected from all sources throughout the year to seek ways to strengthen the accountability system to improve student outcomes.
The TAAG Meeting Presentation and meeting summary can be found on the 2024 Accountability Development Materials page.

PEIMS and Accountability
On February 15, 2024, the finalized PEIMS Fall 2023 (“October snapshot”) data will be available to customers. This data is an essential part of the calculation process for state accountability because it is used to identify the accountability subset. The Accountability Subset Rule states that a subset of assessment results is used to calculate each domain and the subset is determined by the data reported on the TSDS PEIMS October snapshot. (Chapter 1—2023 Accountability Overview (texas.gov)
For 2024 accountability, STAAR results from EOC fall 2023, EOC spring 2024, and Grades 3-8 spring 2023 administrations are included in the accountability subset if the student was enrolled according to the TSDS PEIMS October 2023 enrollment snapshot.

Districts can still update student information, such as student demographic and program enrollment, as specified in the Calendar of Events - District and Campus Coordinator Resources - Confluence (atlassian.net). The “Final Date to Enter Student Information for Accountability Reporting” is listed in the DCCR Calendar of Events linked above. Please note there is a separate deadline to update student information for each TIDE administration event and changes made after the deadline will not be updated in accountability reports.
Districts are strongly encouraged to review and compare the finalized PEIMS Fall 2023 data and TIDE student information to ensure the accuracy of the data that will be used for accountability calculations.
