We take this space to highlight questions that we have heard from .
Q: If a candidate switches schools during an internship within the same district, does the candidate need the intern certificate deactivated?
A: An EPP would not have to deactivate the certificate if the candidate is switching placement by going from one school to another without losing district employment. An EPP would deactivate the certificate if the candidate is unemployed during transition time.
Q: Can a candidate who is pursuing certification in a non-teacher class such as Principal or Educational Diagnostician hold an Intern or Probationary certificate?
A: Yes, an EPP may recommend an Intern or Probationary certificate for a non-teacher candidate who is completing a practicum if the candidate meets the certification requirements.
