Upcoming: 2023 TPRS and TAPR Release (December 15, 2023)
The 2023 Texas Performance Reporting System (TPRS) and the 2023 Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) are scheduled to be released on December 15, 2023. The TPRS integrates state and federal reporting requirements into a single reporting system that can be viewed at the campus, district, region, and state level. The TAPR pulls together a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas every year. These reports will be published without scale scores, A–F ratings, Distinction Designations, or Special Education Determination Status at this time.
This release does not include the Campus or District 2023 Accountability Reports. The issuance of the A–F ratings under 2023 rule is pending and subject to change.
Upcoming: Preliminary Accelerated Testing List Coming Soon (December)
The Preliminary 2024 Accelerated Testers Student Listing will be released within TEAL Accountability in December. Students included on the listing were reported as enrolled in grade 11 on the 2022-23 PEIMS attendance files and have either 1) taken an EOC assessment prior to enrolling in grade 9 or 2) earned course credit for an advanced course in Spring or Summer 2020 and were granted a COVID testing waiver. Students are attributed to the district and campus at which they were reported in attendance for the final six weeks of SY 2022-23. The Preliminary 2024 Accelerated Testers Student Listings reflect which subject area the student is considered accelerated and if the student has a corresponding SAT or ACT on record.
Upcoming 2023 Performance-Based Monitoring (PBM) Data Validation Release Dates
District and student-level data validation reports will be posted to TEAL Accountability, Performance-Based Monitoring, on the following dates:
Discipline Data Validation: December 8, 2023 Student Assessment Data Validation: Mid–January 2024
For more information on each indicator, please see the Texas Education Agency’s Data Validation Manuals webpage. If you have further questions, please email pbm@tea.texas.gov or call this team at (512) 463-9704.
Fall 2023 PEIMS Submission Reminders
The PEIMS Fall Snapshot is the source of several important pieces of data used for accountability calculations. Data collected during the Fall Submission is used to identify student characteristics to determine student groups, grade span for a campus, graduation type code, and a student’s continuously or non-continuously enrolled status. The CCMR Accountability Data Sources (texas.gov) provides additional information about the specific PEIMS elements and values used to identify students who have demonstrated college and/or career readiness through dual credit, industry certification, an associate degree, college prep courses, and special education graduates with an advanced graduation plan.
The data entered for the 2023-2024 school year Fall Submission will impact campus and district 2025 accountability for the lagging indicators in the year following a student’s graduation. The window for district submission, and correction if needed, of this data occurs during this school year.
Upcoming Fall 2023 PEIMS Submission Dates
December 7, 2023 – Fall Submission (initial submission) due. January 18, 2024– Fall Resubmission (corrected submission) due.
For further details on upcoming PEIMS submission dates please see TWEDS 2023-24 PEIMS Data Submission Timelines. As a reminder, districts are responsible for the accurate submission and timely verification of all TSDS PEIMS data submissions and data submitted to the Working Collection are not used in accountability calculations.
Summer 2023 CCMR PEIMS Review
For the 2022-23 school year, the finalized data for the Summer and Extended Year submissions became available on September 21, 2023, and October 19, 2023. The CCMR accountability data submitted in these collections includes elements related to dual credit, industry certifications, associate degrees, and college prep courses. Although the corrections windows for these collections have closed, districts are encouraged to review this data. Please contact the Performance Reporting division at Performance.Reporting@tea.texas.gov for any assistance regarding the review of these final data for 2024 accountability (Class of 2023), in advance of the CCMR Verifier release later in 2024.
FAQs
Are the Accelerated Tester requirements waived for students in grade 12 this school year (SY 2023-24) who received the 2020 COVID waiver on their grade 8 EOC?
No, students in grade 12 during SY 2023-24 who received course credit during Spring/and or Summer 2020 and received the EOC COVID waiver (e.g., grade 8 students who took Algebra I in 2020) are required to take the corresponding subject area SAT or ACT while in high school.
How is the Texas Education Agency (TEA) identifying these students and will they be included on the Accelerated Tester list?
For students that completed an EOC test prior to SY 2019-20, TEA used relevant Consolidated Accountability Files (CAF) to identify accelerated testers. For students that were granted COVID waivers during SY 2019-20, TEA has used course completion data to determine which students are accelerated testers. Students that earned course credit in an advanced course during Spring or Summer 2020 will be included on the Preliminary Accelerated Tester list, which will be released in December.

The testing window for the December 2023 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) administration opens Tuesday, December 5, and closes Friday, December 15, 2023.
Completing the Administration
District testing personnel must ensure all student information, student responses, and score codes are complete for the December STAAR administration by 11:59 p.m. (CT) on December 15, 2023. This includes:
- updating score codes in the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE),
- submitting student responses for paper administrations in the Data Entry Interface (DEI), and
- verifying student information in TIDE.
Refer to the Complete Administrations section in the District and Campus Coordinator Resources for more detailed information.
Printed Student Labels
Districts will not receive printed confidential student labels for the December STAAR administration unless they request printed labels through the Score Reporting and Label Requests module in TIDE. The deadline to request printed labels for this administration is December 15.
2024 STAAR Alternate 2 Registration
As a reminder, district testing personnel must submit student registrations for the 2024 STAAR Alternate 2 administration in TIDE no later than December 14, 2023. In May, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) updated the STAAR Alternate 2 participation requirements beginning with the 2023–2024 school year. Resources are available on the STAAR Alternate 2 Resources webpage to assist district personnel with the updated participation requirements.
Spring 2023 STAAR Administration
Registration
The deadline for district testing personnel to ensure all students participating in the spring 2023 STAAR administration are registered in TIDE is December 14, 2023. Calculations of initial spring orders of test administrator manuals will be based on the number of students enrolled in TIDE by this date.
Paper by Request Administration
The deadline for district testing personnel to register students for a paper by request administration of STAAR is December 14. District testing personnel must set the Paper by Request indicator code to “Yes” in TIDE for any student whose parent, guardian, or teacher in the applicable subject area requested a paper version by December 1. Refer to the Paper by Request Administration page in the Coordinator Resources for more information.
