Impact Aid 101
Did you know that federal lands like military installations, Indian Tribal lands, or lands purchased by the federal government to support major federal programs like NASA are not subject to local school property taxes? Ever wonder what happens to the loss of local property tax funding for school districts that have large areas of federal lands within their school district zone? Our next military-connected students webinar will help you learn more about the federal government's approach to providing aid directly to districts who are significantly affected by the responsibility to provide equitable educational experiences for federally impacted schools. Impact Aid provides funding to assist local education agencies in important areas including funding per federally-connected students, construction, special education services, etc.

Our special guest for this webinar will be Dr. Billy Walker, Executive Director, Texas Association of Federally Impacted Schools (TAFIS).
