TIDE Updates
EOC Previously Passed Field
As of today, the new EOC Previously Passed field in the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE) has been updated by Cambium Assessment, Inc. (CAI). This field has been set to “Yes” for active and inactive students who have previously passed a specific State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) end-of-course (EOC) assessment. If a student has this field set to “Yes” for a specific STAAR EOC assessment, that assessment will not be available in the list of tests in the Test Delivery System for that student to take. This functionality will prevent students from accidentally retaking an assessment they have previously passed. District testing coordinators, district testing assistants, and campus testing coordinators will be able to set this field to “Yes” if there is a local reason a student does not need to retest. District testing personnel will need to maintain local documentation for the specific reason.
CAI will not override any values set to “Yes” regardless of whether the value was entered by district testing personnel or directly by CAI. Once set, this value will be retained in a student’s record regardless of the record’s deletion from TIDE. That is, if a student is removed from TIDE and added at a later time, EOC Previously Passed status will persist. CAI will update this field again in the spring after the December 2023 STAAR administration.
Student Searches
Based on feedback received from districts, CAI has removed the previous requirement to export student search results in TIDE if the query included more than 20 campuses. Student searches will now allow for results to be populated in the user interface for all students within a district. If search results contain more than 50,000 students, any exports of data must be sent to the Secure File Center.
Secure Browser Updates
iPad OS version 17 Support
After performing extensive testing, CAI has extended mobile Secure Browser version 9 to include iPad OS version 17 starting on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. No updates to the Secure Browser are necessary for devices running iPad OS version 17.
macOS version 14 Support & Secure Browser 16.5
In order to provide support for macOS version 14 (Sonoma), CAI is releasing macOS Secure Browser version 16.5 on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. Districts running macOS version 14 must update to this new Secure Browser. For districts running other supported versions of the macOS operating system, updates to Secure Browser version 16.5 are not necessary.
District and Campus Coordinator Resources Updates
The Accommodations section of the District and Campus Coordinator Resources has been posted. In addition, the Accommodation Request Form is now available under the Administration and Security Forms module in TIDE. Other updates made to the Coordinator Resources are listed on the Updates to Coordinator Resources page.
