New: Announcing the Newly Certified and Hired Dashboard

The Newly Certified and New Teacher Hires Dashboard provides descriptions of the certification pathways of teachers entering the teacher labor market, and the connections between teacher preparation programs, certification pathways, and new teacher hires in Texas public schools.

This suite of dashboards provides answers to several emergent questions, which are based on stakeholders, media and the general public interest. The dashboards will be publicly available in January 2023. The data behind the dashboards will be available for download.

New: Texas Teacher Preparation Program Quality Review Grant Extension

TEA has launched a grant application to support selected teacher preparation programs to participate in a quality review of their program.  The selected programs will engage with a vetted technical assistance provider who will facilitate a comprehensive review of program quality indicators in support of EPP continuous improvement. During this process, the TEA seeks to learn alongside the technical assistance provider and the selected programs to better understand best practices in quality reviews. The grant provides the in-kind technical assistance and funding for faculty/staff time for participation. If interested in applying, you can find the grant on the TEA Grant Opportunity Page. Once on the page, search 2022-2023 Texas Educator Preparation Program Quality Review Pilot.  The deadline to apply has been extended to January 9, 2023.
