News from the Federal Fiscal Compliance and Reporting (FFCR) Division

Important Reminder of Upcoming Deadlines for LEA-level Maintenance of Equity (MOEquity)

For LEAs that received ARP Act funds, this is a reminder of the following upcoming deadlines regarding the MOEquity requirement:

Automatically Excepted LEAs:

• December 2, 2022 -- review the web-posted list to confirm that your LEA has met USDE’s automatic exception criteria for enrollment and/or grade span configuration. Notify FFCR if your LEA was erroneously included or excluded.

LEAs not Automatically Excepted:

• December 9, 2022 – complete/submit the MOEquity Document Submission Plan
• December 15, 2022 – for LEAs seeking a USDE exception: email the exception request to Texas.oese@ed.gov and copy Compliance@tea.texas.gov
• January 27, 2023 – for LEAs that select to complete the MOEquity Tool: complete/upload the tool into GFFC Reports and Data Collections

If an LEA is unable to meet these deadlines, please contact the FFCR Division at compliance@tea.texas.gov to indicate when we can expect the required information.
