Updates related to Accountability System for Educator Preparation (ASEP) Reporting
Updated: ASEP Reporting Complete! ASEP 2021-2022 closed on Thursday, 9/15/2022, at 5 PM CST. A big thank you to everyone involved in completing the reporting of ASEP data this year. Your education specialists are reaching out with any remaining next steps, and the data team will be working on processing all the data over the coming weeks.
New: 2021-2022 ASEP Reporting Affidavit As of September 15, 2022, the 2020-2021 ASEP reporting year is officially closed! The last item that is required to be submitted for ASEP reporting is the ASEP reporting affidavit. This can be found on the Program Provider Resources page under Forms and Documents. Submit the electronically signed affidavit to Preparation Programs in Help Desk by September 23, 2022 by 5:00 p.m.
Updates related to Educator Preparation Program Management
Clinical Experience Placement Collection for the 2022-2023 Academic Year
As we previewed at the ASEP reporting webinar, there will be a new data collection related to clinical experiences starting in the 2022-2023 academic year. This new collection will simplify observation reporting (allowing EPPs to report the details about the placement just once) while allowing EPPs to store this required data in ECOS. We have provided you some tools that will help you start to plan forward. This document, which is published in the Forms and Documents section on the Program Provider Resources page on the TEA website, provides all the information you need about the collection. We will also be hosting a webinar later this fall as we get closer to the collection going live. A registration link will be available in the newsletter.
Reminder: Implementation of the Clinical Experience Records update to ECOS has been postponed until December. This decision was made to ensure the admin functions are fully operational to allow TEA to better support EPPs as they use the new features.
Educator preparation programs at public colleges and universities are required to report certification rates of teacher education graduates to the LBB. To facilitate the reporting process and ensure the consistency and accuracy of data, TEA supports public colleges and universities by making available a tool to collect graduate information from the entities and, using data in the TEA database, calculate the certification rate for constituents. Guidance for using the Educator Certification Online System (ECOS) to upload and retrieve your certification rate is available in the Data Reporting Manual.
More information will be distributed to public colleges and universities via email later this week.
