District Information

Dear District Leaders,

TEA is asking for your help in ensuring that parents have the information they need to better understand their child’s school rating via TXschools.gov.

Starting today, parents can visit the redesigned TXschools.gov website to learn more about their child’s school and discover how it is preparing them for the next grade level and success after high school.

We’re asking each school district to take one of the following steps to help communicate this information to parents:

  1. Distribute the TXschools.gov flyer to parents in your district: Use whichever platform your district typically uses to distribute information to parents. This can be via direct mail, school management software, or even by sending a hard copy of the flyer home with students. This flyer is available in both English and Spanish and details the common steps of how parents can utilize the TXschools.gov website to access their child’s school ratings.
  2. Mention TXschools.gov on your social media platform: In 280 characters or less, you can share the benefits of TXschools.gov with parents via your social media platforms. Our communication toolkit offers you simple social media posts you can copy and paste to share with parents. All social media assets (blurbs and images) are available in English and Spanish.
  3. Promote TXschools.gov on your website: Inform parents about the benefits of TXshools.gov via your website. Simply download the website banner design files and customize them to the specific dimensions of your website. All design files come in English and Spanish in the design program, InDesign.

You can find all these resources and more in the TXschools.gov Communications Toolkit or by clicking the “Access Resources” button below. All materials are fully accessible and available in both English and Spanish.

We appreciate your partnership in this work and your commitment to building effective relationships with parents through effective engagement. Should you have any questions or need additional templates to help communicate this information to parents, please contact the Performance Reporting Division.

Thank you for all you do for our students.
