TEA will consider new regional programs of study this fall. To begin the process of submitting a program of study for review, interested ESCs or LEAs must email the TEA CTE Statewide Coordinator who supports the aligned career cluster between October 5, 2021 and October 25th. Contact information for each Coordinator can be found on the TEA CTE website.
Email indicating interest must include:
- The name of the proposed regional program of study
- The CTE courses included in proposed regional program of study
- The in-demand high-wage occupations used to justify the proposed regional program of study
Coordinators will respond with application materials for eligible programs of study. Completed applications are due to TEA on November 1, 2021. Only one application for a regional program of study in an ESC region is needed. If the application is approved, all the LEAs in that ESC region may implement the regional program of study. LEAs should collaborate with their ESC CTE Specialist on regional program of study proposals to avoid duplication of efforts. ESC CTE Specialists can coordinate with LEAs and submit the application for LEAs in their region.
Note: If seeking approval for a regional program of study that is already approved in another region or regions (listed here) only the courses listed in the currently approved regional program of study can be used.
