Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2.0 in College, Career, and Military Readiness

Texas Education Agency Updates

To the Accountability Contact Addressed:

Beginning with 2022 accountability ratings, the newly designed Texas Success Initiative assessment (TSIA2) will be considered for College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) credit for 2020–21 graduates and non-graduating 12th graders in addition to prior TSIA1 records. The attached document details how a student can meet TSI criteria for CCMR via the TSIA1 and/or TSIA2. The document is also available on the Performance Reporting Resources webpage for future reference.

As a reminder, to meet TSI criteria for accountability purposes, a student must meet the minimum scores in both English language arts/reading (ELAR) and mathematics via the SAT, ACT, TSIA or by earning credit for a college prep course. The student does not necessarily need to meet criteria for both subjects on the same assessment. For example, a student may meet the ELAR TSI criteria on the TSIA and complete and earn credit for a college prep course in mathematics.

If you have questions about the inclusion of TSIA1 or TSIA2 in CCMR, please reach out Performance Reporting at performance.reporting@tea.texas.gov or (512) 463-9704.

Thank you.
