State CTE Leadership Committee Application Process

The State CTE Leadership Committee  works collaboratively with the Texas Education Agency (TEA), to ensure that statewide CTE frameworks and initiatives are developed with a clear understanding of the impact on Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and their CTE programs. The committee assists in aligning TEA CTE initiatives to current and emergent industry trends and helps to maintain a focus on  support for a diverse student population in Texas with respect to all aspects of CTE. The committee is composed of one representative from each education service center (ESC) region, the current Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT)  president, and an ESC CTE Specialist representative.

Committee members agree to:

  • a 2-year term beginning 9/1/2021 and ending 8/31/2023.
  • attend and participate in monthly webinar meetings; typically, 1.5 hours each.
  • attend and participate in up to two face-to-face meetings: one in the fall and one in the spring each year.
