The following rule actions were filed with the Texas Register for publication in the February 26, 2021 issue:
Summary: The adopted amendment reflects statutory changes resulting from House Bill (HB) 3, 86th Texas Legislature, 2019, by updating a cross reference and lowering the rate for high-risk-of-violence walking areas from $1.08 to $1.00 per mile. The amendment was adopted without changes since published as proposed.
Effective Date: March 2, 2021
Summary: The adopted new rule establishes an application and selection process for awarding grants under this section and an application process to establish a list of programs that may be used for training. The new section was adopted with changes since published as proposed.
Changes to 19 TAC §102.1501 at adoption
Effective Date: March 2, 2021
Summary: The adopted new rule establishes the requirements for a school district or open-enrollment charter school to earn a Math Innovation Zone designation. The new section was adopted with changes since published as proposed.
Changes to 19 TAC §102.1503 at adoption
Effective Date: March 2, 2021

Summary: The proposed new subchapter would have implemented Senate Bill 11, 86th Texas Legislature, 2019, by establishing rules for the safe and supportive school program (SSSP) and trauma-informed care. In seeking to better align the SSSP and trauma-informed care policy and training rules with other agency strategic priorities, Texas Education Agency has withdrawn the proposed version of the rules and will repropose them at a future date.
Effective Date of Withdrawal: February 12, 2021
