The Autism Circuit evidence-based practices (EBPs) program is a comprehensive online professional learning community facilitated by the Texas Statewide Leadership for Autism Training (TSLAT) with funding from TEA. The program is designed to help Texas educators acquire and effectively implement evidence-based practices (EBPs) for teaching students with autism. In past years, the program content covered the 27 EBPs identified by the National Professional Development Center (NPDC) on Autism Spectrum Disorder.
On October 14, 2019, local education agencies (LEAs) selected to participate in Cycle I Group I and II Differentiated Monitoring and Support (DMS) activities were able to begin the self-assessment within the Ascend Texas application. This monitoring activity concluded on February 14, 2020.
The Technical Assistance Team in the Department of Special Education Programs is developing a series of technical assistance guides. These guides are intended for use by Texas educators to support implementation of services for students with, or suspected of having, disabilities.
