Statewide Indirect Cost Rate Proposal and Additional Costs Workbook Training
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is collaborating with regional Education Service Centers (ESCs) to provide four training opportunities across the state for independent school districts (districts) interested in learning more about completing the request for indirect cost rates for 2020–2021.
Title of Training Sessions:
Completing the Indirect Cost Rate Proposal (ICRP) Additional Costs Workbook (ACW)
Objective: The goal is to provide ESC staff and district administrators with information and guidance regarding TEA’s Indirect Cost Rate processes, procedures, and forms, and to assist districts in meeting upcoming deadlines.
Description: This training session is designed to inform districts of the upcoming timeline for ICRP activities and updated procedures. Districts that want indirect cost rates for school year 2020–2021 must submit an ICRP ACW by January 31, 2020. This training is intended to assist districts in meeting this deadline. Staff from TEA will discuss the ICRP ACW procedures and timelines, offer examples and explanations, walk districts through the worksheets and required data, and allow time for specific questions.
Dates/Times/Locations: Four ESCs will be hosting training on the following dates:
-
December 12, 2019, from 9:30 AM–12:30 PM, at ESC Region 12 in Waco Register
-
January 6, 2020, from 1:00–4:00 PM, at ESC Region 4 in Houston Register
-
January 7, 2020, from 1:00–4:00 PM, at ESC Region 2 in Corpus Christi Register (ESC 2 Distance Learning Zoom registration)
-
January 9, 2020, from 9:00 AM–noon, at ESC Region 17 in Lubbock Register
Target audience: Training is open to all districts, particularly Business Managers and other staff involved in completing the 2020–2021 ICRP ACW to request indirect cost rates for the next school year.
Important Note: this training is applicable only to districts and not charter schools, since charter schools’ indirect cost rates are calculated in a different manner.
Registration Information: TEA staff will make the presentations on location at the hosting ESCs which are encouraged to video stream, videotape, and/or record and make available to district staff who are unable to attend. To register to attend in person or to access the available resources remotely, district staff should contact the respective hosting ESC for information.
Training Materials
The PowerPoint, forms, and other resources will be available on TEA’s Indirect Cost Rates webpage.
