This message
communicates information concerning upcoming adjustments to applicable
2017-2018 IDEA-B Formula and IDEA-B Preschool grant programs, including revised
final amount and one-time supplemental funding amount adjustments by the Texas
Education Agency (TEA).
Revised Amounts including Supplemental
Funding
Revised final and
one-time supplemental funding amounts for the IDEA-B Formula and IDEA-B
Preschool programs in the 2017-2018 Special Education Consolidated Grant
Application are now available on the Grants Administration Division Federal
Entitlements page as two separate documents. The LEA’s approved
budget, reflected on Schedule BS6006—Program Budget Summary, will be the
combination of the LEA’s current-year revised final amount and a one-time
supplemental amount. Note that the one-time supplemental funding amount is
connected to executing the TEA Special Education Strategic Plan.
TEA staff will initiate
budget adjustments to the largest budgeted class/object code to incorporate the
revised final and supplemental amounts. The sum of the LEA’s revised final and
one-time supplemental amounts for IDEA-B Formula and IDEA-B Preschool programs
will be in the applicable Final Amount cells on Schedule BS6006—Program Budget
Summary.
Once the adjustment
process is completed, grantees will receive email notifications of revisions to
program budgets with their revised Notice of Grant Award (NOGA) attached to
that email. Until
those email notifications and attachments are distributed, TEA requests that LEAs
not
submit any amendments to claim 2017-2018 Special Education Consolidated Grant
Application revised final amount funding. Amendments for any
other changes to the application may be submitted at any time.
Amendments
If
necessary, once it
receives email notification of the revised budget and NOGA, an
LEA or ESC may file an amendment to revise the budget entered by TEA staff. Please refer to When
to Amend the Application on the Administering
a Grant page of the TEA website to determine
if an amendment is necessary.
The deadline to submit amendments is 5:00 p.m.
Central Time, June 17, 2019.
Extended Period of Obligation
As a reminder, the
ending date of the 2017-2018 IDEA-B Formula and Preschool grants is September 30, 2019.
No Carryover Funds
Because the 2017-2018
IDEA-B Formula and Preschool grants are extended through September 2019, none
of the awarded funds will carry over to a subsequent grant period. All unexpended funds will lapse.
