Deadline Reminder from the Federal Fiscal Compliance and Reporting Division
This message is to remind local educational agencies (LEAs)
that the 2017–2018 Special Education SC5100—Coordinated Early Intervening Services
(CEIS) Data Collection form is due to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) by 5:00
p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017. This
data collection must be submitted annually by LEAs to report the number of
children who received coordinated early intervening services (CEIS) and who
subsequently received special education and/or related services.
As described in the Program Guidelines associated with the
2017–2018 Special Education Consolidated Grant application, this reporting
requirement applies to any LEA that reserved CEIS funds during the 2014–2015,
2015–2016 and/or 2016–2017 school years, as reported in their respective 2014–2015,
2015–2016, and/or 2016–2017 Special Education Consolidated Grant applications.
All LEAs (single-member districts and fiscal agents of
shared services arrangement) who reserved CEIS funds during the applicable
years must certify and submit this data by the deadline date of December 1,
2017.
LEAs may access
the CEIS Data Collection form through the Texas Education Agency Secure Environment
(TEASE).
Once you have logged in to the system, follow these steps:
1. From the Application List, select “eGrants.”
2. Enter the LEA’s county district number (CDN) to access
the "2017–2018 Special Education Consolidated Grant Application."
3. At the top of the page, under “eGrants Special
Collections,” select "2017–2018 Special Ed SC5100–Coordinated Early Intervening
Services Data Collection."
4. Complete the form with all pertinent information, then
select “Certify and Submit.”
For fiscal agents of shared services arrangements (SSAs),
the SC5100 data must be reported at the member district level. A drop-down box is available on the form for
the fiscal agent to select the specific member districts in the SSA.
