Dear County Election and Voter Registration Officials,
We would like to provide a few updates to you regarding the DPS files that were sent out to counties this week.
Financial Assistance to Counties

The SOS has identified additional funding to support counties in the processing of late arriving DPS voter registration applications. The grant funds are available to assist with the reimbursement of costs incurred above your routine operational expenses related specifically to the increased number of DPS voter registration applications and the upcoming voter registration deadline.

The deadline for requesting reimbursement is October 19, 2026. Additional information related to the submission of documentation will follow.

Expedited Security Training
- For counties that may need additional TEAM credentials assigned to temporary workers or additional staff, we have expedited the process for assigning security training and TEAM log-ins. Please send your requests to ElectionSecurity@sos.texas.gov.
DPS Web Portal
- As a reminder, counties have been using our DPS Web Portal to submit inquiries directly to DPS when questions arise on a voter's registration record that originated from DPS. After you have processed the DPS registrations that have been sent to you, if you have voters that are still reporting issue with their DPS registration, you may continue to use the DPS web portal to resolve these individual inquiries.
