Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, in partnership with Matagorda County Seawall Commission, City of Palacios, Matagorda County Navigational District No. 1, Matagorda County Precinct #3, the Palacios Rotary Club and the Palacios Economic Development Committee, is launching the Palacios Paddling Trails, bringing the total number of certified trails to 100 as we celebrate the program's 20th anniversary. And you’re invited to help us celebrate.
Join us July 23 at 11 a.m. at East Bay Park Boat Ramp for the grand opening of the new Palacios Paddling Trails, which include the Tres Palacios River Trail, the Palacios Wetlands Trail, the City by the Sea Trail, and the Dolphin Run Trail.
The four paddling trails add 19.5 miles of coastal trails to the Texas Paddling Trails program and offer a variety of coastal, river, and wetland ecosystems for paddlers to enjoy. The trails are of varying lengths (2-10 miles) and skill levels, offering a variety of opportunities for birding, fishing and relaxation.
Come celebrate, explore, and be one of the first to paddle these new Texas water trails.
