1. The school commits to actively using the Texas Aquatic Science curriculum.
2. The school commits to participate in Texas Aquatic Science field activities at a Certified Field Site or on schoolgrounds.
3. The school serves at least 60% high-need student population.
4. Must have requested access to Texas Aquatic Science Teacher Guide (link provided in application).

Texas Aquatic Science Teacher Guide has over 60 hands-on field and classroom activities. All TAS activities are aligned with the Texas Education Agency's Science Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for:

• 6^th-8^th Grade Science
• Aquatic Science
• Environmental Systems

To receive the password to the TAS Teacher Guide and assessment answer keys complete the Access Request Form. Note: submission is not auto-reply and may take 1-2 weeks to receive password.

Then enter the password using the Teacher Guide and Answer Key Access. 

Food webs lead to discussion on energy transfer, interdependence, impacts of human activity in an aquatic ecosystem, and so much more. These color-coded freshwater ecosystem (4) and marine ecosystem (3) food web cards, include producers, consumers, decomposers, and state symbols.

Print food web cards double-sided for information about each species.

Print single-sided sun and arrows for students to simulate energy transfer between aquatic organisms.

While using the TPWD Food Web Cards, students will:

• diagram and describe transfer of energy in an aquatic food web.
• look at responses of organisms to changing conditions in an aquatic community.
• investigate and explain the effects of energy transformation within an ecosystem in terms of the laws of thermodynamics.
