How to Safeguard Firearms Left in Your Vehicle
How often do you travel with a firearm? Whether you're going to the range, heading to your hunting spot or carrying a firearm on your person, you may need to leave it in a vehicle. Watch the short video, Safe Gun Storage in a Vehicle for tips to keep your firearm from falling into the wrong hands.
According to recent findings, a firearm is stolen from a car every 9 minutes on average in the United States. This is triple the rate that it was just 10 years ago. Most of these firearm thefts occur from cars parked at residences.
Make sure you take the proper steps to prevent theft of a firearm from a vehicle.

Get ready for an exciting event as the 2025 Texas State NASP/IBO 3D Archery Tournament takes place on March 25-26 at the Cadence Bank Center in Belton.
With approximately 5,000 students expected to participate, TPWD is seeking volunteer assistance, no experience required!

Operation Game Thief (OGT) – 2025 Claystoppers Events
There are currently 4 Claystoppers events in 2025 that benefit OGT and help support our Texas Game Wardens. Join us for a 100-clay target course, lunch, raffles and live auction!
Operation Game Thief (video) is a 24/7 hotline that lets concerned citizens report hunting, fishing and boating violations to their local game wardens by calling 800-792-4263. If the call leads to a conviction, you could receive up to a $1,000 reward.
