Key Highlights from the 2024
Toyota ShareLunker Collection Season
2024 was another incredible year for the program, with numerous milestones achieved and unforgettable memories created, including:
- 6 reservoirs delivered Legacy Class Lunkers (Fort Phantom Hill, Inks Lake, J.B. Thomas, O.H. Ivie, Sam Rayburn, Toledo Bend)
- 3 new reservoirs with Legacy Class Lunkers (Fort Phantom Hill, Inks Lake, J.B. Thomas)
- Angler Kyle Hall’s ShareLunker 665 (15.82 lb.) made the Texas Top 50 as the 37th heaviest all-time largemouth bass caught in Texas and was certified by the International Game and Fish Association (IGFA) as a new world record Florida Bass
- Angler Kyle Hall recorded a Legacy Lunker in 3 consecutive seasons
- Angler Larry R. Walker reeled in 2 Legacy Class Lunkers in 2024
- Anglers submitted over 650 ShareLunker entries during the year-round program, including 14 Lew’s Legend Class Lunkers (13+ lb.)

TPWD fisheries biologists have learned a great deal from genetic scale samples donated by Texas bass anglers. They are eager to receive more data, but for that we’ll need your help.
Donate a scale sample from your Lunker!
Anglers who submit catch information on their 8+ lb. lunker and send in a scale sample will receive a Lew’s Tournament Pro Baitcasting Reel, valued at up to $200, while supplies last*. Plus, they will get a 3-month subscription to Bass University. Instructions for submitting DNA samples are located on the Toyota ShareLunker website.
Sending in a genetic sample from your Lunker can benefit the conservation and enhancement of trophy bass populations in Texas. Learn more about how TPWD is working to make bass fishing bigger and better for anglers on the ShareLunker Science page.

How to Participate in ShareLunker Program
If you reel in a largemouth bass that’s at least 8 lb. or 24 in., you can participate. Simply enter your Lunker catch information online or on the ShareLunker mobile app during Jan. 1–Dec. 31, 2025. Lunkers 13+ lb. that are caught during spawning season (Jan. 1–March 31) can be donated to the ShareLunker program – just call the mobile hotline at (903) 681-0550 and we’ll come pick it up!
All confirmed ShareLunker participants will receive a Catch Kit corresponding to their fish’s weight class. Each Catch Kit includes an achievement decal, merchandise and other giveaways. Plus, qualified entries will be included in a grand prize drawing to win a $5,000 shopping spree and other prizes! And, if you share a 13+ lb. bass for spawning (must be caught between Jan. 1–March 31, 2025), you will be entered in an additional drawing to win a $5,000 shopping spree, VIP access to the Toyota ShareLunker Annual Awards event and a high-quality replica of your Lunker fish.
