Boaters in Texas can enjoy more than 150 lakes, 15 rivers, 3,700 streams and coastal access. These aquatic ecosystems provide recreational opportunities in addition to protecting water quality and providing habitat for fish and wildlife. Find out all the places where you can boat.
Your boat registration fee helps maintain our waterways and supports local conservation efforts. The water is waiting... all that's missing is you and your boat.
3 easy ways to renew your boat registration
-
Renew online. Your registration decals will be mailed to you and you can immediately print your receipt to use your boat. You can also update your address online. A small additional charge for online service will apply. (Online renewal is not available for USCG documented boats* or those owned by a government entity or political subdivision.)
-
Renew by mail: Return the green renewal notice that you received by mail along with a check or money order for the registration fee due in the accompanying envelope. You may also download and use the Vessel/Boat Records Maintenance Form (PWD 143M).
-
Renew in person: Visit the nearest Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Law Enforcement or participating Tax Assessor-Collector office, which are normally open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
*Boats documented through the USCG must provide a copy of current documentation.
