In the summer of 2020 amid the pandemic, FWC’s Public Access and Services Office staff searched for a way to conduct a statewide event promoting our Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) with the goal of getting individuals and families out onto our WMA system. We needed something fun yet safe and knew that totally virtual activities wouldn’t work. We also wanted to reach outside of our traditional user base. We wanted new visitors, families with children, Millennials and minorities to visit our WMAs

After floating many ideas of events or contests using social media platforms, we found GooseChase, an app-based scavenger hunt platform. We purchased a license from Goosechase and Florida WildQuest was born! This presentation will cover the project from inception to present day as we prepare for year three. We will share what has worked, what didn’t and our plans moving forward.
