Turkey Trot at Lockhart (Nov. 30) – Ready, set, gobble! Join us for a 1-mile or 5K run/walk.

Deck the Halls at Lyndon B. Johnson (Nov. 30) – Help the Sauer-Beckmann Farm get ready for the holidays by stringing popcorn and decorating cookies.

Mother Neff Christmas at Mother Neff (Dec. 8) – Join us for crafts, a Christmas-themed bird walk, holiday shopping, and Dutch oven cooking and treats!

Holidays for the Birds at Lockhart (Dec. 21) – Join the elves in Santa’s workshop by making bird feeders for our feathered friends!

Turkey Trot Cooper Lake - Doctors Creek Unit (Nov. 29) – Work off that big meal by strutting through the park!

Holiday Music in the Park at Eisenhower (Dec. 5) – Join the local high school orchestra for holiday tunes, fellowship, and s’mores!

Prairie Dog Christmas Scavenger Hunt at Lake Arrowhead (Dec. 14, 21) – Search the park for wooden Christmas-themed prairie dogs to win a prize!

Mistletoe: Pucker Up for a Parasite at Ray Roberts - Johnson Branch Unit (Dec. 21) – Learn about the plant and this peculiar tradition, and then make a mistletoe craft for your home.

Lakeside Christmas at Fort Parker (Dec. 21) – Bring a new, unwrapped toy to get free entry and help local families in need. Then enjoy cookie decorating, ornament making, and Dutch oven treats!

Thanksgiving Gobble Wobble at Caddo Lake (Nov. 28) – Bring your family and give thanks for our public lands as we hike off the stuffing and turkey!

Christmas in the Park at Atlanta (Dec. 13-14) – Visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus, The Grinch, and Smokey the Bear and enjoy the drive through decorated campgrounds.

Nature Wonderland Hike at Tyler (Dec. 14) – Enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of winter as the sun goes down during this 2-mile hike. 

Christmas in the Park at Daingerfield (Dec. 18-21) – Drive through the park to enjoy an evening full of Christmas spirit, and on Friday and Saturday, you’ll even get to meet Santa!

Abilene State Park holidays

Turkey Day Hike at San Angelo (Nov. 30) – Need some extra motivation to burn off all that Thanksgiving Dinner? Come join us for a morning hike on the North Unit of the park!

Fa La La in the Forest at Abilene (Dec. 14) – Come for the light show, or decorate your campsites, screen shelters, or yurts with lights and decorations. Campsite fees will be waived for the day of the event for anyone who decorates their site.

Holly-Days in the Park at San Angelo (Dec. 14) – Come celebrate Christmas by enjoying our campground light tour, making ornament decorations, enjoying some s'mores, and vising with Santa.

Yuletide Firewalk at Palo Duro Canyon (Dec. 20) – Join our ranger for a short nature hike to learn about the origins of Yuletide, and then enjoy some traditional Wassail and a Yuletide fire.

2nd Annual Turkey Trot 5K at South Llano River (Nov. 28) – Burn off those extra calories (and see if you can spot one of the park's Rio Grande turkeys) as you run/walk through the roost area towards the finish line!

Christmas at the Ranch at South Llano River (Dec. 7) – Decorate trees, take pictures with Santa, drink hot chocolate, and enjoy some tunes.

Christmas for the Birds at Guadalupe River (Dec. 21) – Join us to make a bird feeder for our feathered friends this holiday season!
