Rainbow Trout Stocking Starts Today

Trout fishing

It’s time for the annual winter rainbow trout stocking!

From now through March, we will stock nearly 300,000 hatchery-reared rainbow trout at more than 140 sites across the state, including all the Neighborhood Fishin' lakes and ponds. Check the schedule for stocking locations and dates.

Catching these hungry fish can be easy. The fish will bite almost immediately after stocking and typically will take a variety of baits, from whole kernel canned corn or commercial soft bait to artificial flies and even small spinnerbaits.

Stocking dates are subject to change. For last-minute updates, contact the hatchery that is stocking your location.
