 When the blazing heat of the summer drags you down, explore
the cooler side of Texas State Parks – at night! Texas State Parks offers some
of the best places to marvel at the night sky far from the bright city lights.
Night hikes and nature programs also introduce you to nocturnal
species and stories. Here are just a few nighttime events across the state:
 Nighttime is the Right Time at Mother Neff (August 5 and 6) - Join a park ranger for a guided mile hike as the park transitions from day to night. Discover the park's natural features and search for some nocturnal wildlife that call the park home.
Night Sky Party at Inks Lake (August 10) - Discover the wonders of the universe when the sun goes down. Rangers will break out the telescopes and laser pointers to show off the constellations and stars.

Night Hike at Ray Roberts Lake (August 13) - Enjoy an easy 2-mile hike at the end of the day. Search for signs of nocturnal animals and insect activity, and enjoy fun nighttime activities.
Night Sounds at Lake Mineral Wells (August 13) - Relax and listen to the sounds of the Texas night. Learn to identify the local insects, birds, frogs and mammals.
