Bluebonnets are blooming, birds are migrating and fun spring events are happening across Texas State Parks. On your park visit, you can test your luck hunting for hidden Easter eggs, take a guided wildflower hike or learn about the many critters roaming parks.  

So hit the road for a Texas State Park near you  there are more than 90 to choose from.

Austin Area

Snipe Hunt at Lockhart (March 19) - Track down our hidden snipes or "decorated Easter eggs" after dark. There will be easy, medium and hard hunting areas suitable for families and kids of all ages.

Easter at the Farm at Lyndon B. Johnson (March 26) - Experience Easter like a Texan from 1915. Naturally dyed eggs, traditional Easter Lamb Cake and arts and crafts activities are all on the menu.

Wildflowers

Chainsaws and Wildflowers at Eisenhower (March 18) - Learn how the park preserves its native prairies. The program will include a live chainsaw demonstration, basic wildflower identification and painting.

Eggstraordinary Eggstravaganza at Dinosaur Valley (March 27) - Bring your basket and join us for a lively Easter Egg Hunt in the park.

Spring Hawk Watch at Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley (Daily until April 30) - Help park volunteers and naturalists spot and count thousands of migrating raptors. The annual Hawk Watch monitors hawks as they head north to their breeding grounds and offers a fun birding opportunity. 

Jeop-Birdy and Bird Bingo at Choke Canyon (Every Friday until April 29) - Think you know about birds? Challenge yourself and your friends to a bird-themed Jeopardy match and practice your ID skills with Bird Bingo.

Birding Hike at Hueco Tanks (March 19, every third Saturday) - See some of the 200+ bird species found at Hueco Tanks on this ranger-guided tour.

Snakes of the Big Bend! at Davis Mountains (March 19) - Check out this live snake demonstration and talk from TPWD experts. All snakes will be non-venomous and native to the Big Bend region.
