On Monday, July 13, METRO launched curb2curb service in the Gulfton neighborhood with the new 347 Gulfton route. The expansion adds the program's sixth zone and provides residents with a flexible transit option that connects them to jobs, schools, healthcare, shopping and other everyday destinations.
The service zone gives residents greater flexibility to travel throughout the neighborhood while making it easier to connect to nearby bus routes and key community destinations. It also provides direct access to the Westpark/Lower Uptown Transit Center and Hillcroft Transit Center, creating seamless connections to METRO’s broader transit network, while improving access to nearby schools, including Wisdom High School and Jane Long Academy.
The 347 Gulfton service reflects the agency's continued investment in neighborhood mobility and recognizes the growing demand for flexible transit options that compliment METRO’s network.
"Our goal is to make it easier for customers to get where they need to go," said Michael Andrade, METRO Vice President of Specialized Transit Services. "The new 347 Gulfton service expands access to transit and strengthens connections throughout the neighborhood, giving residents another flexible transportation option for everyday travel. It reflects our commitment to providing safe, reliable and accessible mobility while continuing to expand services that meet the evolving needs of our communities."
Customers can request curb2curb rides through the METRO On Demand app. Additional information, including the service area and hours of operation, is available at RideMETRO.org or by calling 713-739-RIDE (7433).
