Safety remains METRO’s top priority as service gradually resumes following recent weather impacts. METRO operations, maintenance and facilities teams continue assessing roadway and weather conditions in real time and actively inspecting routes, infrastructure and equipment before each phase of service ramps up.
METRO will restore service in a phased approach to ensure safe and reliable operations for riders.
Service Start Times (Approximate)
- 9 a.m. – HOV/HOT lanes reopen
- 11 a.m. – METROLift, curb2curb and Community Connector service begins
- 12 p.m. – Local bus service planned to resume in full
- 12 p.m. – 500 Downtown Direct begins service as conditions allow
- Park & Ride service will not operate Monday
Bus Service
Local bus service will roll out as routes are deemed safe, with the goal of returning all main routes to regular service by noon. Riders should expect possible delays and service adjustments as safety inspections continue.
Park & Ride and HOV
Park & Ride service remains suspended for Monday. HOV lanes will reopen at 9 a.m., and motorists are urged to remain cautious and avoid areas with pooling water.
The 500 Downtown Direct is expected to begin service by 12 p.m., pending roadway conditions.
Rail Service
METRORail will operate on a weekend service schedule. Crews will continue monitoring tracks, signals and platforms throughout the day to ensure safe operations.
METROLift, Community Connector and curb2curb
METROLift, curb2curb and Community Connector services will begin at 11 a.m. METROLift continues prioritizing transportation to medical facilities and warming centers as recovery efforts continue.
City Coordination and Community Support
METRO remains in close coordination with the City of Houston and partner agencies to support warming centers and essential mobility needs. Partner organizations and ride sponsors continue receiving real-time service updates.
