 METRO will adjust METRORail service on the Red, Green, and Purple lines from Thursday, Dec. 11 through Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, to perform scheduled maintenance and system upgrades.
During this period, METRO crews will carry out a series of critical maintenance projects that require immediate attention. These include replacing sections of rail and track switches, inspecting rail lubricators, repairing damaged signal cables, and performing deep cleaning of canopies and platforms, along with other essential tasks. Track switches allow trains to move from one track to another, and rail lubricators help reduce wear on tracks and minimize noise.
This work is necessary to protect the safety of our riders and must be completed now to prevent service impacts in the future. These efforts underscore the Authority’s commitment to providing a safe, reliable, and smooth ride—both today and in the months ahead.
To accommodate the work, frequent shuttle buses will replace rail service in the affected areas.
Red Line
Shuttle buses will operate every 10 minutes between Northline Transit Center / HCC Station and Downtown Transit Center Station. View shuttle map.

Riders needing assistance or trip planning information can call or text METRO Customer Service at 713-635-4000, available weekdays from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. METRO staff will also be on-site to help direct passengers and provide assistance as needed.
All riders are encouraged to allow for extra travel time during this service adjustment.
