Weekend Service Adjustments for METRORail, I-45 South HOV Lane

METRO will modify service on the METRORail Red Line and close the I-45 South (Gulf Freeway) HOV/HOT lane this weekend to perform essential maintenance and system improvements.

METRORail Interruption 

The METRORail Red Line will offer modified service from the start of service on Saturday, April 5 through the end of service on Sunday, April 6.

Bus shuttles will be available every 10 minutes between Fannin South Transit Center and Burnett Transit Center. Click here to view shuttle map. Please allow extra travel time for your trip. 

During this time, crews will complete track, signal, and electrical enhancements, platform cleanings, and other critical maintenance work to ensure a smoother, safer, and more reliable transit experience.

HOV/HOT Lane Closure

The I-45 South (Gulf Freeway) HOV/HOT lane will be closed on Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6 due to TxDOT maintenance work. The lane will reopen on Monday, April 7. 

METRO personnel will be available to provide assistance. Customers can also text or call METRO Customer Service at 713-635-4000 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday if they have any questions or need trip planning information.
