This Lift is Only $1.25: METRO Cuts Ribbon on Newest Rideshare Option

C2C1

Today, METRO Board of Directors Chair Sanjay Ramabhadran, along with Board members Diann Lewter, Troi Taylor, Christopher Hollins, and METRO President & CEO Tom Lambert, joined community leaders and elected officials to celebrate the ribbon-cutting of METRO's 314 Hiram Clarke curb2curb service in southwest Houston.

The on-demand rideshare service will officially launch on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2022, and offer area residents a personalized and affordable transportation option within a designated zone. The service also allows customers to connect to the broader METRO transit network.

"Convenient, high-quality transit is essential to our communities because it gives people a safe, affordable, and environmentally sustainable way to get to school, employment, health care and other essential destinations," said METRO Board Chair Sanjay Ramabhadran.

Praising the Authority's efforts to provide an equitable and accessible transportation alternative to the Hiram Clarke community, U.S. Rep. Al Green presented METRO with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition.

METRO's new 314 Hiram Clarke curb2curb service will operate seven days a week and cost only $1.25 each way. Discounts are available to students and seniors, and curb2curb vehicles are 100 percent accessible. Scheduling is available on METRO's curb2curb app. For more information, visit METRO's website.
