Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA) Executive Director Roberto Treviño has joined METRO's Board of Directors. Treviño, who will represent Harris County, was sworn in earlier today.

The Texas A&M University Kingsville graduate and professional engineer brings nearly two decades of transportation experience to the METRO Board. As Executive Director of HCTRA Treviño is responsible for capital and other assets totaling $4.7 billion.

Before HCTRA, Treviño had a 17-year career with METRO. As executive vice president of planning, engineering, and construction, he was responsible for overseeing and managing METRO's Service Planning, System Planning, Engineering and Construction, and Facilities Maintenance divisions. He played an instrumental role in several major projects, including METRO's New Bus Network, a bus route redesign now used as a model for at least 35 cities worldwide.

Treviño said serving the residents of Harris County is an honor and he looks forward to advancing an equitable transportation system that connects all people to jobs, education, and other vital services.

"I'm passionate about transportation because it plays such a significant role in the welfare and prosperity of our communities and the people who live in them," said Treviño. "When we improve access to opportunity for everyone, we all flourish."
